A series of tests were conducted in early 1995 at the Phillips Laboratory Rocket Propulsion Directorate facility at Edwards AFB, CA. In this successful test series on April 24-26, 1995, the Scorpius 5,000 vacuum thrust engine was fired for a total of 110 sec in runs of 10, 52, and 48 sec. The engine was in excellent condition at the end of the testing. This engine is intended for both light-lift to orbit and sub-orbital applications.
